Sometimes you’re late for a shoot and golden hour turns into the witching hour too soon! Whoops!
In an effort to pull together today’s post being plagued by forgetting my new Charles David shoes at the office, the photography gods forced me to take a different look at the city, one I didn’t mind – at all.
Last minute seems to be the name of my game this summer – professionally, I don’t have the luxury. Personally – call it a cheap thrill. But sometimes its just fun to buy a new dress strap on a pair of heels and venture somewhere unknown.
So keyword to all of this “new.” I miss those days in Dallas where I could pop into my favorite boutiques and pick out a dress that I not only loved but also loved my wallet too. It was something unique and after wearing a few times it owed me nothing.
When I moved to New York the same whimsical aesthetic I seemed to only find at Kate Spade or Lilly Pulitzer. While both closet staples – I couldn’t justify the impulse buy while also adjusting to $8 toilet paper. (NYC = redic!) So I found The Mint Julep boutique, just the right amount of southern charm for both me and my New York life. The boutiques that we’re now costing a plane ride were now online and my last minute purchases we’re like gifts arriving to my office.
I’ve always been a fan of patio or maxi dresses – especially on those dog day summer nights where all you want is to put and ice cube in your wine and cuddle with an air conditioner. The flow-y’er the better right? Dress it up with heels like these color coordinated numbers from Charles David or flats (even go barefoot – you do you flower child).
So in celebration of my new found discovery the Mint Julep Boutique and I have partnered with my favorite online shop for a 25$ giveaway just in time to celebrate the last days of summer. Labor Day is coming up and with their $50 and under styles who can say no to a new fun silhouette?
Now that’s the way to kick off a birthday week – shameless plug for tomorrow’s post! Enter using the Rafflecopter links below to “shop the mint.”
